The conscript soldier, who is still in serious condition at the Santiago Military Hospital, would have been exposed to a treatment that could have generated necrosis in his fingers, in order to save his vital organs.

One of the latest consequences reported about the fatal march in Putre is the amputation of the hand of a conscript soldier from the Motorized Brigade No. 24 “Huamachuco.”

This young man, along with another of his companions, remains in serious condition inside the Military Hospital of Santiago.

According to the information that La Radio has been able to compile, in conversation with different health specialists, and the information that has been established, when the young conscript arrived at the Arica Hospital, he would have been diagnosed with severe septic shock. This information was confirmed by the minister of the Court of Appeals of Santiago and president of the Court Martial, visiting the region of Arica and Parinacota, Jenny Book.

Faced with this scenario, hospital officials applied a vasoactive drug, one of the treatments usually used to combat serious infections that can attack vital organs. In this way, hypertemia would be ruled out as a cause of this situation.

However, one of the side effects of this treatment is that it can cause necrosis in the fingers and toes.
