The Bajo Jardín Foundation presents itself today with a neoclassical and contemporary repertoire.

“Like every year, since the creation of Bajo Jardín, in 1996, we will celebrate International Dance Day today at 8:30 p.m. at the Rosita Ávila municipal theater (Las Piedras 1,550),” he announces. Alejandra Dezaco-director of the dance studio located in San Juan and Virgen de la Merced.

International Dance Day constitutes a global celebration and visibility of this art in all its expressive forms.

The commemoration was established in 1982, promoted by the International Dance Committee (CID) belonging to the International Theater Institute (ITI/UNESCO).

“It was institutionalized in tribute to the great dancer, teacher, choreographer and researcher Jean Georges Noverre (1727-1810) on the day of his birth, April 29. Also known as the Father of Modern Ballet, Naverre provided knowledge and technical and artistic guidelines that transcended time and that are still valued and widely disseminated in the field of dance education, both in the creation and production of choreographic shows.” Deza points out.

The function

The program that Bajo Jardín will offer today is made up of a first part of variations (solo and group) of the ballet repertoire.

In the second part there will be the revival of an own production, which combines neoclassical and contemporary styles, premiered in December, “Impressions about Dance… Fauré” with choreographies by Constanza Campero Cossio, April Altamiranda, Ana Paula Navarro, Marcela González Cortés and Deza.

Students from the different levels of Bajo Jardín and dancers from the Bajo Jardín Ballet participate as Julieta Divizia, Lourdes Vieyra, Agostina Rodrigo, Melisa Bellagamba and Rocio Meza.

The lighting design is in charge of González Cortés and the general direction is in charge of Amelia Acosta and Deza.
