Detectives from the Valparaíso Sexual Crimes Investigative Brigade arrested a 28-year-old subject, as part of a long-term investigation called Operation “Halcón III”, for the Crime of Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Boys, Girls and Adolescents (NNA), who also had child pornographic material seized from him, investigations carried out by the Valparaíso Cyber Crime Investigative Brigade.
The head of this specialized brigade, sub-prefect Ingrid Ortiz, pointed out that “in relation to the modus operandi of this subject, he contacted children and adolescents, between 14 and 17 years of age, female, through social networks, around the residences of the Service. “Better Childhood of Valparaíso, taking advantage of his psychosocial vulnerability, exchanged images and videos of sexual connotation in exchange for money, to later carry out sexual encounters.”
The detainee was transferred to detention control at the Guarantee Court of Valparaíso, for the crimes of Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children, Promotion and Facilitation of Sexual Exploitation, Malicious Storage of Child Pornographic Material and Production of Child Pornographic Material, where a deadline was established. 120-day investigation and total house arrest. It was reported by subprefect Ingrid Ortiz, head of Brisex Valparaíso.
Francisco Olivares Merino, Regional Director of Valparaíso of the National Service for Specialized Protection of Children and Adolescents: «The work to combat and prevent sexual exploitation in Valparaíso is a priority for the Protection Service. In our region we have filed numerous complaints and promoted joint work with other institutions, such as the police and the Prosecutor’s Office. Coordination is key to achieving arrests like this. Our greatest concern is the protection of the children and adolescents served in our network. In these cases, we have action protocols, with repair and support programs. “We will continue to work with determination hand in hand with other institutions, so that all our complaints result in these arrests.”
