Santo Domingo.- PRESIDENT of the Dominican Olympic Committee (COD), Garibaldy Bautista, and the Cuban ambassador in this country, Ángel Arzuaga, exchanged ideas for the sports development of the two nations, that organization published today on its official website.

The meeting took place the day before in the office of the sports leader, an occasion in which the diplomat from the Caribbean island presented some initiatives that could be developed in the future in the different areas of sports.

“The relationship with Cuba is very pleasant and we are willing to provide the necessary cooperation that will surely bear fruit in both directions,” said Bautista.

Meanwhile, Arzuaga explained that his country has a large experienced sports staff and training areas that can be very useful for the Dominican Republic.

The ambassador made the Cuban Sports Research Center available to Santo Domingo, as well as medicine dedicated to this sector.

“There is a great decision and disposition of our Government that we must help, contribute to the growth of the sport and the preparation of the teams,” said Arzuaga, who reiterated Inder’s interest in cooperating with the Dominican Republic, according to the CODE

For his part, the president of the COD left the doors open, and stated that he will take the proposals to the organization’s executive committee, as well as to the sports federations to know the needs, always according to the source itself.
