The Magdalena Police confirmed that they have the security device ready for what will be Mother’s Day and the festive long weekend. It is expected that more than 1,000 men and women from the institution will be deployed in different operations throughout the department, this as a separate figure from the usual uniformed personnel.
On the occasion of this date, the municipal mayor’s office of El Banco Magdalena, in order to guarantee security and avoid fights, personal injuries and homicides, also had a security component made up of more than 50 uniformed personnel throughout the festive long weekend throughout the urban area and its rural area.
The municipal authorities, headed by Mayor Ronald Flórez, have already launched the plan to prevent acts of violence that tend to occur with a greater proportion on this date, according to official records. “More than 50 additional police officers to the new police service model, oriented towards people and the territory, will be accompanying the communities to generate a safe environment during this festive long weekend where we invite tolerance and respect and thus contribute to the tranquility of our municipality,” said Mayor Ronald Flórez Sierra.
According to statistical data, in the last three years the celebrations of this date have been marred by violent events, such as fights and others. This is why the security device that the Police established for 2024, in coordination with the Mayor’s Office, includes the deployment of these troops in order to guarantee that these festivities pass in peace and without regrettable events.
