Like many founding partners of architecture firms, Lucia Mariotto y Nina Dodds They were classmates from college. “We took many subjects together, and the dynamic extended to professional practice,” say the architects, who have been working together for eight years (since 2021, at Dodds Estudio). “Our identity has been reflected more strongly in the latest projects and has to do with a specific search to value what exists, to make it dialogue with quotas playful and think ‘outside the box’ details that are specific for each work.”

The intervention shown in this note is an example of the ad hoc design that characterizes the Study: in this old Buenos Aires PH there appears a curved and compact block, covered in wood-like melamine, which responds to a humid core that could not be moved, right in the center of the new integrated plant.

In this project, his effort to revalue a typical typology of the city ​​of Buenos Aires, with elements that make up its essence, such as wooden openings, granite floors, small-scale coatings and vaulted roofs.

The ‘Special White’ granite tile flooring (Moltrasio) was chosen for its resistance and impermeability, since it could get wet when the roof was opened. For the bedrooms, a wood-look PVC was chosen. “When you get out of bed, it’s nice to step on something warm.”Kindness: Federico Cairoli
