All new construction apartments share the same handicap: the absence of a defined style. Although they have the best quality coverings on floors and walls, and although they enjoy spectacular natural lighting and large, open spaces, without an adequate interior design project, these types of homes are cold and impersonal. If you don’t believe it, you just have to take a look at the before and after photos of this apartment located in the Teatinos neighborhood, Malaga. The interior designer Elisa Iglesias, founder of the EIRE Interiors studio, was in charge of transforming the property into the dream of its owners, who had a special predilection for the Japandi style (you know, that trend that advocates combining the naturalness of Japanese aesthetics with the fresh and contemporary air of Scandinavian design).
In this way, the studio opted for the beauty of oak wood to dress practically all the rooms. Together with the use of wallpaper in strategic areas, neutral tones and black touches in details such as the handles, they gained that elegant contrast that characterizes the Japandi aesthetic. All of this, wrapped in the warmth and touch of freshness that only natural fibers are capable of providing. Ready for the house tour?

Harmony is perceived from the hall
From the hall itself we can already appreciate the Japandi essence in the choice of a cantilevered oak wood console and a mirror with organic lines that combines with the vase and that encourages relaxation as soon as you enter.

The living room was like a blank canvas.

Before: a new construction room
The wooden floor, the neutral color of the walls and the white carpentry was, without a doubt, an excellent base to start the interior design project.

After: a living room that exudes naturalness
Warm and earthy tones inspired by nature, together with wood and fibers, make up the interior design of the living room and the rest of the home.

After: custom furniture that takes advantage of the space
In the living room, as well as in the master bedroom and the home office, custom furniture was key to making the most of the available space, integrating the different environments and multiplying their functionality. A good example of this is the bookshelf with wooden shelves on a wallpaper that imitates microcement and that fills the right wall of the living room with style and light.

Before: with access to the terrace and natural light
The space where the living room and dining room were designed has direct access to the terrace, which in turn favors the entry of natural light. Quite a hoot!

After: the dining room connects with the terrace
Being located in this corner with floor-to-ceiling windows from which you can access the terrace, the dining room enjoys enviable natural light. Another key that we love is the choice of curtains in a natural fabric and color.

After: furniture follows the latest trends
In the dining room, a round wooden table was chosen both at the base and on the top, and it was combined with chairs with seats upholstered in bouclé white, the star fabric. To complete the set, a lamp with a fiber shade was selected that conceives a very cozy atmosphere and a rug with an oval design that follows the trend. curvyvery soft to the touch and sight.

Before: a completely empty bedroom
Before the project, the master bedroom was a space that said nothing, and yet was full of possibilities. Do you want to see how it turned out?

After: a bedroom that invites you to calm
In the master bedroom, the excess space was used to design a custom dressing room and a dressing table that in turn acts as a shoe rack. In this room, the neutral tones of the textiles and coverings invite the most pleasant rest. In addition, the wallpaper is the same as that used for the living room, with the aim of generating visual harmony between environments.

After: guest room and office at the same time
In it home office or office, a custom desk with storage was designed, and a beige upholstered sofa bed was added that could not be more comfortable for the owners’ visits. Although one of the elements that stands out the most is the organic-inspired wall mural that combines several colors.

The bathroom has a double sink and walk-in shower.
EIRE Interiors
Before: a very bland and impersonal bathroom
The master bathroom was a terribly impersonal and boring space. So much grey, without even a mirror or any natural element to add some life, was not welcoming at all and was crying out for a radical change.

After: a marble-tiled bathroom
In the first bathroom, the walls were covered with marble, a material that contrasts with the oak wood of the furniture that holds the two sinks.

Before: a bathroom that pointed ways
The second bathroom was much more welcoming than the first thanks to the wood-effect front, matching the floor, but it also needed a change.

After: a bathroom that has gained warmth and style
As we mentioned, the effect of the wood on the front wall is the focus of attention. To cover the bathtub and the rest of the walls, textured tiles in a natural tone were chosen that links with the rest of the home.
