George RR Martin offers a less than encouraging update on the status of the new novel in the successful saga.
The wait for Winds of Winter it gets longer and longer. Once again, the author of the literary franchise that inspired game of Thrones talks about the work he is having to finish the latest and most anticipated installment, which has been in development for years.
During a recent appearance on the BANGCAST podcast with the author of The Last KingdomBernard Cornwell, Martin broke his silence on the state of the writing process:
“The main thing I’m writing, of course, is the same. I wish I could write as fast as [Bernard Cornwell] but I’m 12 years late to this damn novel and I’m struggling with it.
I have about 1,100 pages written but I still have hundreds more pages left. It’s a great book for any reason. Maybe I should have started writing smaller books when I started this, but it’s hard. “That’s the main thing that dominates most of my working life.”
