The Sevillian agency Cobertura Photo has just presented Real Books, a new publishing house whose purpose is to publicize photographic works carried out by students and collaborators through printed monographic publications. The first book of this project is ‘Inner Bodies’of Lucie Fernandez (Lausanne, 1992). This artist currently lives and works in Seville. Her trajectory develops through the self-representation. In this first book he shows a set of works that he has meticulously produced over the last four years.
As Lucie Fernández explains in a text, «this moment of search, alone in front of the objective, becomes a parenthesis where I find the necessary space to reflect and play with my experiences. The significant experiences that have marked my existence remain present, and my body is the guardian of the memory of those emotions. «During the process – adds this creator – the physical reality of the body faces its own limits. Through this restriction, possibilities are born, a challenge that continually stimulates the desire to create.
The Swiss artist adds that “by assuming the role of intermediary between the body and light, the surrounding space creates the appropriate intimacy for the development of this silent conversation. Collaboration with natural light requires synchronization with its own rhythm, it forces me to observe with respect the ephemeral nature of the present moment». He concludes by saying that “these images constitute visual fragments of my effort to understand and narrate this existence. By sharing my story I aspire to understand and connect a little more with that of others.».
