About the book

By managing to compose our existence within a social field in which life experiences are determined by the principles of commodification (“unlimited” consumption), financialization (permanent debt), entertainment (spectacularization of everyday life), virtualization (digitalization of links and interactions) and performance (competition and productivity), the neoliberal order has managed to make desire and life compatible with the production of capital.

These processes that have led to a greater loss of control over our lives do not occur without serious tensions. The ever-increasing pressure to follow the imperatives of performance, digital self-promotion and consumption has made it possible to sustain acceptance of a way of life in which the constant overfitting to measure up to what is expected leads to increasingly discomfort. deeper. It is about the emergence of symptoms of what can be interpreted as the saturation of the subjectivities proposed by the neoliberal order; but that, despite this, still manages to organize individualities through the articulation of their ideological fantasy. Thinking about the ways in which these subjectivities are articulated, as well as analyzing the processes that generate and sustain them, will be the objective of this meeting.
