The San Pedro Alcántara Book Fair is already underway on Avenida Marqués del Duero until 14 July. Three bookstores are taking part and there is a problem with presentations and also a photography exhibition to mark the 150th anniversary of the death of the colony’s founder, the Marqués del Duero.

Last Tuesday, the San Pedro Alcántara Book Fair, a traditional event to promote reading, was launched and will run until the 14th.

The Delta, Caracuel and Bukmeran Ediciones bookstores are participating and there will be a photography exhibition about the Marquis of Duero.

This year, the proclamation was replaced by a Tribute to two people from San Pedro who ran a kiosk for decades, places where books were once bought in the absence of today’s bookstores.

On the one hand, Pedro Aranda Nunez (Kiosco Aranda) and, on the other hand, posthumously, to Pepa Torrejon (Torrejón Kiosk).

The fair will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and in the afternoon from 7:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Las book presentations will open this Friday 5th with the author Marina Minguelawhich will present “Son (Trinity)”.

On Monday 8th, it’s time for Guillermina Alvarez Benitez with his book “The Engraved Soul”.

Augustin Rivas will be the protagonist on Thursday 11th at the presentation of his novel “Unamuno’s Nightmare”.

Finally, on Friday the 12th, Vanessa Guerra will bring his book “Body Language”.

All these presentations will be at 8:30 p.m. at the end of Calle Jerez, in front of the hotel.
