Published by Editorial Visor in collaboration with the Gerardo Diego Foundation, in With sun inside. Collected poetry (1999-2024) Marcos Díez gathers the books Combustion (Argensola Brothers Award, Visor, 2014), Scrapping (City of Burgos Award, Visor, 2018) and Beauty without us (Generation of ’27 Poetry Prize, Visor, 2022), as well as a selection of first poems, written between 1999 and 2013, and an unpublished book, entitled Kiss the earthwritten between 2022 and 2024.

«Reading Marcos Díez’s poems, one gets the impression that they are written fundamentally with the heart in hand, from a simple honesty with which we feel a rare communion that could come very close to what we call human truth. If they disenchant it is because they renounce linguistic juggling and sorcerer’s poses; if they detoxify it is only because they cleanse the mind of both irony and sentimentality, and fill it with words that nourish, words that hold on to what they mean. Marcos Díez’s poetry investigates the wounds and joys of existence through a close, sober and meditative voice, which pauses to observe everyday gestures, experiences and the most intimate personal ties not to sublimate or disapprove, but to try to find, in a sincere effort, the meaning from its own chiaroscuro. A singular voice, with multiple edges, organic and coherent, that believes in the power of language to transmit beauty, emotion and truth.
