Juan Antonio Corbalán and Francisco Gallardo present their latest book this Thursday

HBN. Lamiya Wellness and Social Club will host This Thursday, October 10, starting at 7 p.m., a meeting with Juan Antonio Corbalán and Francisco Gallardo, in which they will present the book ‘This wasn’t in my Basketball History book.’ It will be a magnificent opportunity to meet in person one of the basketball leaders of the 80s and 90s in Spain, as well as two great medicine professionals, enjoying a talk about basketball, history and much more.

The work of Juan Antonio Corbalán and Francisco Gallardo takes a journey through the history and curiosities of a sport that has millions of followers around the world. Thus, in its pages, these two great professionals explore the beginnings of basketball, its popularization, the mythical ‘Dream Team’ of Barcelona ’92 or moments of players and teams that have left their mark on the history of this sport.

Juan Antonio Corbalan

He has a degree in Medicine and a specialist in Occupational Medicine and Physical Education and Sports Medicine. He serves as coordinator of the Medicine and Sciences of Physical Activity service and director of the Exercise Physiology Unit of Vithas International (Madrid). He is considered the player with the best individual record in the history of Spanish basketball. Most of his sporting career was played for Real Madrid (1972-1988), where he won 14 leagues, 7 King’s Cups, 3 European Cups, 1 Cup Winners’ Cup, 1 Korac Cup and 4 Intercontinental Cups, wearing the Real Madrid shirt. Spanish team on 177 occasions, with which he won the silver medal at the Los Angeles Olympics in 84 and the European Championship in Nantes in 83. He was captain of Real Madrid, the Spanish National Team and the European Team. He finished his career as a player, the 90-91 season, at Valladolid, finishing in fifth position in the Spanish League championship.

Francisco Gallardo

He is a specialist in Sports Medicine and Traumatology, having served as head of the medical services of Caja San Fernando –now Betis-, of the ACB League; as a doctor for the Spanish Basketball Team, responsible for the Locomotor System Unit of the Andalusian Center for Sports Medicine and specialist at the Cartuja High Performance Center, in Seville. Currently, he directs the Dr. Gallardo and Sports Institute.
