In simple terms, this means that the air and fuel ratios are kept more or less constant, which optimizes the combustion process and improves the overall efficiency of the engine.

The benefits of this technology are significant. In a recent breakthrough, AVL has managed to develop a two-liter hydrogen engine that produces an impressive 410 hp and 500 Newton-meters of torque between 3,000 and 4,000 revolutions per minute. This translates into a specific power density of approximately 205 hp per liter (150 kW per liter), a notable milestone in the automotive industry.
