With this increase in power, the company based in Dresden (Germany) has established a new TOPCon standard that offers solar modules with “more efficient cells and with a robustness that allows a long useful life,” the company explains in a statement. Solarwatt glass-glass modules are bifacial half-cell modules. The Solarwatt Vision M 5.0 model is available in Style, Black and Pure versions (up to 450 Wp each). They have a 35 mm aluminum frame and impress with their exceptional robustness against inclement weather and mechanical stress.

In addition, Solarwatt’s solar module generation is characterized by its low CO2 emissions. Thanks to the most modern technologies and production processes in factories with zero carbon emissions certified by TÜV Süd, the CO2 footprint per TOPCon solar module is “less than 220 kg CO2eq”, says the manufacturer who, by way of comparison, explains that “the production of a standard module available on the market generates an average of more than 600 kg of CO2.”

Gregor Kuschmann, director of PM Panels at Solarwatt: “With this new version of the highly efficient TOPCon modules we reduce the CO2 footprint by almost two thirds. If we also compare the CO2 footprint with the CO2 savings potential of the solar system, the new modules save less than 15 months more carbon dioxide than necessary to produce them.

Circular economy
In addition, the manufacturer ensures that the new solar modules “meet the highest raw material recycling rates.” Thus, “75% of the aluminum for the module frames comes from recycling, 45% of the silicon used for the manufacture of solar cells and 20% of the glass for photovoltaic modules,” they explain.

Furthermore, Solarwatt ensures a transparent supply chain and only works with suppliers of raw materials and materials that have committed to the labor standards of the United Nations International Labor Organization (ILO). This includes fair remuneration for employees, the strict exclusion of child and forced labor and organized employee representation.

Solarwatt Credentials
Solarwatt is a German photovoltaic company specialized in the production of solar systems founded in 1993 and is a European benchmark in the supply of clean energy. In addition, Solarwatt provides its clients with sector offers for photovoltaic energy, batteries, electric vehicle chargers and heat pumps with comprehensive energy management to make it more efficient.
