ING bank is informing its customers about a series of changes that will come into effect from July 15 and that affect the withdrawing money from ATMs automatic. The entity has few of its own ATMs distributed throughout Spain. To solve this limitation, it offers its clients the possibility of withdrawing money from ATMs of other banking entities with which it has reached prior agreements. However, for the withdrawal of money with the debit card to be free, there is a minimum amount which varies depending on the bank.

“The withdrawal conditions will soon change to debit at some ATMs,” ING has notified its customers via email. Specifically, the affected ATMs are those that until now allowed a minimum withdrawal of 200 euros without charging commissions. As of June 15, ING has indicated that the minimum amount to be withdrawn must be greater than 250 euros. If it is a lower amount, the operation will have additional costs.

However, this change will not apply to all ATMs. From ING they have provided a list of banks where you can withdraw money by debit without any commission. At ING, Euronet, Cashzone, Banca March and Euro Automatic Cash ATMs, money can continue to be withdrawn at no cost and without taking into account any minimum amount.

At network ATMs Euro 6000 (Unicaja Banco, Kutxabank, Ibercaja, ABANCA, Bankinter, Cajasur, Caixa Ontinyent, Caja de Ingenieros, Arquia Banca, Caixa Pollença and EVO Banco), you can continue withdrawing a minimum of 50 euros free of charge. “If you withdraw a lower amount, the commission charged by the entity that owns the ATM will be applied,” warns ING. ATMs of entities that are not part of those mentioned will have a minimum free withdrawal amount of 200 euros. Starting July 15, this minimum amount will be raised to 250 euros, or a commission will be charged if the amount withdrawn is lower.

Finally, customers with the ING app can also withdraw money without commissions when purchasing in more than 30,000 stores throughout Spain that are part of the TOPii stores, such as the DIA group, El Corte Inglés Supermarkets, Hipercor, Shell service stations , DISA, Galp, Atoneoil, ONCE, tobacconists and pharmacies.

Banking entities have not escaped the rise in European inflation in recent months, so they have increased their commissions. For maintaining non-subsidized checking accounts, the average reached 245.82 euros last June

Besides, ING charges a monthly commission of 3 euros for your Payroll Account in the event of not meeting its requirements. Clients who have this financial product can close it and open a NoAccount Account, which despite having fewer advantages, is free and does not require compliance with any requirements periodically. To avoid paying these commissions, clients can meet certain requirements that “release” them from this obligation. One of the easiest ways to get away from commissions is by direct debit of income or receiptsas well as the contracting other additional products Of the entity. In the event that a bank charges for services that others do not, changing entities may be a viable option to save.
