Telefónica Tech and IBM launch an AI and data solution in the Spanish market

Telefónica Tech and IBM have sealed an alliance in Spain to deploy artificial intelligence (AI), analytics and data governance solutions in a “heterogeneous and changing” environment, to be able to extract all the value from them in business processes. These will be unified on the platform SHARK.X, which will be open hybrid and multicloud and specialized in data management and AI. Likewise, it will implement resources, training and certifications. Regarding this, Telefónica Tech will provide specialized professional services to define the deployment architecture for each client and will provide advice in the field of data governance and AI models, as well as regulatory and ethical compliance. For its part, and at the software level, IBM will include several technologies associated with the management, analysis and exploitation of information. SHARK.X will host IBM Cloud Pak for Data, to enable data collection, organization, analysis and governance; will include the IBM watsonx Data and AI platform to build, deploy and scale AI applications

According to a study by IBM itself, almost half of the Spanish companies that are currently working with AI claim to have accelerated their investments in technology in the last 24 months. “This reality highlights the need to provide the corporate landscape with tools and solutions that drive their digital transformation journeys, in which this technology plays a prominent role.”

For its part, the collaboration also includes the launch of a use case office, made up of professionals from both organizations, “to drive and coordinate the definition and development of use cases and proofs of concept and MVP that accelerate business development and further show the value available to customers through the use of these technologies”.
