Azul receives the first Embraer E195-E2 of 2024

This week, Blue Air Lines received the first Embraer E195-E2 from 2024totaling 21 aircraft of the same model, at the Belo Horizonte International Airport (CNF). Its maiden flight was to Montevideo (MVD)Uruguay.

The aircraft in question is configured with 136 seats in one class and has registration PS-AEU. This year it is expected the incorporation of another twelve aircrafts, announced in April during a ceremony with the president of Brazil, Lula da Silva, in São José dos Campos (SP). The airline declared that it was an investment of R$ 3 billion.

The aircraft received its name (Azul & Embraer, Orgulho do Brasil) during the visit of President Lula and government authorities to the Embraer headquarters in São José dos Campos, on April 26.

“Delivery is very important to expand our domestic airline network. It is a modern and efficient aircraft, with a significant reduction in fuel consumption, reducing not only the operating cost, but also CO2 emissions. Furthermore, it is a great pride for Azul to collaborate in the development of our aerospace industry, since each aircraft received generates around 500 jobs,” he claimed Raphael Linares, Legal and Fleet Director of Azul.

Features of the Embraer E195-E2 in Blue

Embraer’s E2 has capacity for 136 passengers and it is the largest commercial aircraft manufactured in Brazil. According to the manufacturer, it offers savings of up to 25% in CO2 emissions compared to the previous generation model. Azul’s E195-E2 are equipped with Wi-Fi and individual in-flight entertainment (IFE). The company expects receive 75 aircraft before 2030which will replace its current 42 E195-E1.

According to the Cirium platform, the majority of The E2 are based in Belo Horizonte/Confins (CNF) and Campinas/Viracopos (VCP). Your only international destination with the model is to and from Montevideo (MVD), Uruguay. The aircraft have allowed it to launch secondary routes and complement the Airbus A320neo in its fleet.

It has also been observed that some routes that are operated with ATR 72 are potential E2 destinations, once they mature with good profit margins and load factors.
