The World Airline Awards 2024 -organized by Skytrax, the site that evaluates and classifies companies from around the world- They chose the best airlines in the world to travel this year for the service they provide to their passengers. The results were no surprise: Qatar Airways took first place for the eighth time in the awards’ 25-year history.

In a ceremony held at the hotel Fairmont Windsor Park in London with the presence of more than 325 guestsamong which were CEOs and presidents of different airline companies, the awards known as “the Oscars of the aviation industry” highlighted the work of more than 100 companies and revealed the ranking they carried out through more than 14 million customer surveys around the world.

The Qatari airline took the top prize, but also won other recognitions: Best Business Class in the World, Best Business Class Lounge in the World and Best Airline in the Middle East.

“This is a proud moment for Qatar Airways and I am honored to share this award with my hard-working colleagues. This award is a testament to our tireless dedication to service and innovation. incomparable. We look forward to more victories in the future,” said CEO Badr Mohammed Al-Meer after receiving the recognition.

After falling one place off the podium compared to last year, second place – and the award for Best Airline in Asia, Best Cabin Staff and Best First Class – went to Singapore Airlines. In third place was Emirates, followed by ANA All Nippon Airways and Cathay Pacific, respectively. Unfortunately, of the more than 350 airlines included in the survey, Aerolíneas Argentinas failed to occupy a place among the best 100 in the world for the second consecutive year.

For the fourteenth consecutive time, AirAsia was the winner of the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline award, while Scoot won the same recognition but for long-distance flights. Likewise, the Spanish Volotea received the award for Best Low Cost Airline in Europe, followed by Transavia France and the renowned Vueling.

Another very notable recognition is that of the most “family-friendly” airline, which British Airways won this year. This award considers family seating policies, family check-in facilities, priority boarding, onboard child service, and stroller policies.

In terms of regional recognition, Vistara took home the award for best airline in the India/South Asia region; Fiji Airways in Australia/Pacific, for the second time; Delta Airlines was chosen as the best in North America; Ethiopian Airlines was the best in Africa for the sixth year in a row; and Air France is the best in Western Europe.

In addition to the prestige they have, they stand out for being totally independent and impartial from airline companies, since all the costs of customer surveys and the event in which the awards are presented are paid by Skytrax, the private company that organizes it.
