Actor Orlando Bloom revealed his displeasure at his participation in the film Troy (2004), which starred Brad Pitt and Eric Bana. In an interview for Varietythe Hollywood star said he hated playing Paris, the prince of Troy whose affair with Queen Helen sparks a war.
“My God, ”Troy. Wow. “I think I just erased that movie from my brain,” he expressed to the aforementioned media. “Many people love that movie, but for me playing that character was like… (makes a gesture of cutting his throat),” he confessed.
Orlando Bloomrecognized for playing Legolas in The Lord of the ringsclarified that his displeasure is not with the film itself, which he classified as “great”, but specifically with his character.
“Am I allowed to say all these things? I didn’t want to do the movie, I didn’t want to play this character,” added the Briton.
“How was I going to play this character? It went completely against everything I felt. At one point Paris is crawling on the floor after being hit by someone and holding his brother’s leg. I was like, ‘No.’ I’m going to be able to do this,'” he commented.
Troydirected by Wolfgang Peterse, grossed $500 million at the global box office.
