Tuesday, May 21, 2024 will go down in history as the day when Omar Geles died and left an entire country in mourning, as his voice faded after suffering cardiorespiratory arrest while playing tennis in Valledupar. The news of his sudden death took by surprise many performers of the vallenato genre and of course, his family, especially his mother and his wife Maren García.

García had been in a relationship with the composer of ‘Los Caminos de la Vida’ and ‘Tarde lo Conocí’ for more than 10 years, and together they had three children: José Juan, José Mario and Isabella.

The woman’s first words were heartbreaking for many, as she published a story on her Instagram profile, in front of her more than 524 thousand followers.

His short message was accompanied by a photo of Geles looking out the window: Love of my entire life, you left me without you. “I don’t have the strength, love, you take them all,” wrote.

Hours later, the musician’s emotional funeral took place and on May 23, Maren García shared a publication on her account on the aforementioned social network in which Dayana Jaimes left her some moving words.

In the snapshot remembering a moment with his partner he added as a caption: “Omar… I never imagined this, my love, I am dead in my life, love, I don’t know what to do, I don’t know what I’m going to do love without you
