Flor Peña gave an interview to Gente Magazine and confessed that, when she was just a baby, she had a problem for which she had to undergo surgery to save her life.

“Look, I was literally born with my forehead open. What was it like? My two foreheads were separated and when I laughed liquid came out. My mother, who is an instrumentalist, realized that something was happening,” he began.

And he added: “We are talking about fifty years ago. So, after much insistence, they did a study on me and they discovered it there. They had to operate on me when I was a month old.”

“If they didn’t do it, I could get an infection. That is to say… the great paradox of my life is that I was born with an open forehead… and mind. When I was about to have me, my mother got preeclampsia,” he added.

“She got preeclampsia (a pathology that arises during pregnancy, mainly characterized by high blood pressure) and she couldn’t have me. So I pushed for 24 hours,” Flor said.

“As it became complicated, she had me by cesarean section. And that is another of the things that define me. I am a very strong girl. Those two things that I tell you marked in a very categorical way what came next,” she added.

“My mother told me that the birth had been difficult, but she also told me that she felt that those things had defined me. Obviously at that time I was not who I am today,” said Peña.

Finally, the actress remarked: “But it was clear that they had to do with my personality. It is something that after many years amuses us, but at the time it was traumatic.”
