The Madrid’s community has expanded the scope of the Foundation for Biomedical Research and Innovation of the Infanta Sofía University Hospitals (San Sebastián de los Reyes), Henares (Coslada) and the Tagus (Aranjuez), adding the latter to the collaboration with universities to promote scientific research.

This development was made official with the signing of the adhesion document, in the presence of Inmaculada Ibáñez, general director of Research and Teaching, and the managers of the three hospitals together with María Jesús Latasa Sada, director of the Foundation.

This research center, which involves the university European of Madrid and the Francisco de Vitoria University, focuses on the continuous improvement of scientific quality and the training of professionals in Biomedicine and Health Sciences. Since its inception in 2018, the number of researchers has grown from 220 to 400 in 2023, with 53 of them dedicated to competitive advanced research projects.

Over five years, 938 scientific documents have been published, including articles and reviews, with a notable participation of the members of this foundation, highlighting 217 studies led by researchers from these hospitals and 104 recognized among the top 10% worldwide. , which reflects the quality and impact of their work.

The integration of hospitals and universities seeks to strengthen applied research and expand opportunities for professional and scientific development in health centers, promoting cooperation and taking advantage of existing synergies to optimize public health results.
