The leader of the PP, who received the toast from the bullfighter Miguel Ángel Perera, has claimed that bullfighting is “a brand of Spain and Latin America” and a “shared culture”, demanding at the same time respect for traditions. “No one forces anyone to come to the bullfights, no one forces them to accept this world of bullfighting,” Feijóo insisted, defending that fans cannot be forced “to give up a way of expressing a culture.” At another point, Feijóo recalled that behind the world of bullfighting there is an economic sector “that affects livestock, the environment, the veterinary sector and a way of maintaining the population in rural areas, which is not easy with depopulation. that we have now.”
