Netflix has given great news to subscribers around the world after announcing the return of ‘Peaky Blinders’ through the production of a new feature film that will star the Oscar winner, Cillian Murphywho will reprise his iconic role as Tommy Shelbyleader of Birmingham clan.
The direction will be in charge of Tom Harperknown for his work on the hit series, where directed the second half of season 1and thus bring back to fans one of the most popular stories of recent years.
Although specific plot and cast details have yet to be revealed, the return of Cillian Murphy in his acclaimed role. Steven Knight, the creator of the series, will also be the screenwriter of the film. Previously, the writer hinted in an interview with Deadline magazine that the story could be set during the Second World War.
Peaky Blinders and its long-awaited return
The series began its transmission in 2013 through BBC Two in it United Kingdom and in 2014, Netflix joined the project, expanding its reach internationally. The program achieved resounding success, being awarded in its fourth season with the BAFTA Award for Best Drama. In total, the series had six seasons and concluded its broadcast in 2022.

The production of the film will be in the hands of Caryn Mandabach, Steven Knight, Cillian Murphy and Guy Heeley, in association with BBC Films. Production is scheduled to begin later this year.
