The actor, 55, appears alongside Martin Lawrence in this action hit, which is the third sequel to the 1995 film “Bad Boys.” In a video that has gone viral on TikTok, Smith can be seen leaving a room at the Cinemark Baldwin Hills Crenshaw in Los Angeles after a screening of the film.

Fans quickly recognized the actor, and began surrounding him and taking photos in what Deadline described as a “frenzy.” “I hope you enjoyed the film. It was a good movie”Smith is heard saying to the other attendees.

The TikTok user who attended the movie wrote alongside the video: “Surprise, you walk out of the Bad Boys movie and Will Smith walks out with you after watching the movie with you! Only at CINEMARK!”

Smith also shared images from the day on his own Instagram page, describing it as a “ritual” of his to attend public screenings of his films. “I snuck into Bad Boys in Baldwin Hills last night.”, he wrote in an Instagram reel on Saturday, June 8. “It was AMAZING! Where should I go next? We’re in Baldwin Hills, we’re about to enter the movie theater. It’s a ritual I have. I do it when I premiere a movie: on Fridays, Saturdays and generally there is a matinee on Sunday, I go to the cinemas.”

“Bad Boys: Ride or Die” has been widely described as a comeback film for Smith, arriving just over two years after his shocking slap to comedian Chris Rock on stage at the Academy Awards. Since the incident, which earned Smith a 10-year ban from attending any Academy events, the actor has largely stayed out of the public eye. His only film so far had been the 2022 slavery drama “Emancipation,” filmed before the Oscars incident.

“Bad Boys: Ride or Die” had an unexpectedly strong opening weekend at the box office, grossing more than $104 million worldwide. This figure puts it on track to be one of the biggest films of the year and represents the second-biggest opening for the franchise, behind 2020’s “Bad Boys for Life.”

Smith is also set to star in a “Karate Kid” sequel in 2025 and will participate in an upcoming sequel to his 2007 hit. “I’m legend”a film from which Smith shared a curious anecdote in an interview with Hot Ones.

Smith confirmed that he tried to adopt his “I Am Legend” co-star, a German shepherd named Abbey.

“It was like Abbey spoke English.”Smith told host Sean Evans, joking that he used to reach for his cell phone. “I literally understood you, it was the strangest thing.”

Will had such a close relationship with the German shepherd that he wanted to take her home. However, Abbey was “the economic support of his family”, which is why he couldn’t adopt her.

Smith continued to praise his canine co-star, sharing that he did his own stunts in the heartbreaking scene where Smith’s character has to drown his dog after it becomes infected. Her trainer “trained Abbey to go limp and placed her on the ground,” Smith described the scene. “How do you train a dog to go limp?” she asked rhetorically, imitating the action.

“It was like working with a brilliant actress”Smith said.
