A TikTok video marked a before and after in the life of Dina Indarte, a 25-year-old street artist who sings “a la cap” at the Banfield train station, on the Roca Line, and captivates passengers with her powerful voice.
In fact, it was one of those who met her on the train who filmed her when she sang the song. “I Have Nothing”, by Whitney Houston, shared it on Twitter and it went viral. “It happened in the summer. I was going to spend a season in Patagonia and at one point my cell phone went off. When I recovered the signal, in the middle of the route, I saw that it was blowing up with messages. In a matter of hours I went from 1,600 followers on my Instagram to 10,000. “It was all because of that video that surpassed one million views,” the young woman recalled in dialogue with Infobae.
Thanks to that filming, Dina is nicknamed the “Whitney Houston of Rock”” and her popularity reached such a point that she is now hired to entertain parties and events. “What happened is tremendous. People passing by on the platform greet and hug me. Adults and children stay listening. The other day a girl who traveled two hours from Grand Bourg came to meet me because she had heard me on Tik Tok. She is crazy,” she admitted in surprise.
Dina is originally from Banfield, she is a single mother of a 5-year-old boy and has been singing since he was 8 years old. He started as part of the choir of an evangelical church where his father played the guitar and then continued as an amateur. At the age of 18 he had the opportunity to participate in the casting of the reality show “La Voz”, but he only passed the first round.
Faced with the pressure of bringing a plate of food home, she went to work as a retail employee. “I worked in ice cream parlors, bakeries, and lastly I started making and selling homemade jams,” said the young woman, who had to opt for her own business to “not spend so many hours away from little Tiziano for so little money.”
The need to generate extra income led her to make the decision to go sing for the first time in the center of Lomas de Zamora, on November 15 of last year. “Today we start this project, singing for the first time on the pedestrian Laprida. She was fucking crazy. “Singing in the street is another tremendous experience that is connecting me every time to my art, everything I am experiencing is tremendous,” he wrote that day on his networks.
“I sang for two hours and made very good money. “So I decided to give it all up and dedicate myself to this, which is what really makes me happy,” said the artist, who can be found on networks such as Dinarte.music.
When summer arrived, Dina took the opportunity to combine work with pleasure and went to work “on the go” in bars in San Martín de los Andes, Colonia Switzerland and Villa Meliquina, which opened their doors to her without knowing her. She returned convinced that this was the path she wanted to follow and chose to settle at the Banfield station. “I like being there, it’s the train she used to go to school. All the employees already know me and the love I receive is immense. Some even give me tupperware with food,” she said.
It started less than 6 months ago working every day but now it only goes three times a week, for two hours, starting at 2:00 p.m. “I save my voice for events and to give a good show because the vocal cords also wear out,” Dina explained.
“Today I earn the same as working as a retail employee. The difference is that I only spend two hours on it. I do what I like and I have more time to dedicate to my son”, the young woman was proud, who only had to invest in a speaker with Bluetooth and a microphone.
The first proposal to give a show came from a train passenger. He invited her to sing at a family celebration and then birthdays and weddings were added. “The idea came from the people themselves“I never would have imagined it,” he remarked humbly.
Although she admits that “the situation is difficult” and that there are times when she has to work a little harder to reach the average amount of money she needs to cover her needs, Dina is optimistic: “There are always bad seasons, you just have to overcome them” .

His repertoire includes songs in English and Spanish. “I really like ballads but also pop, soul and gospel. I love Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Alicia Keys, Amy Winehouse, María Becerra and Nathy Peluso. But I sing covers of many artists, especially those that people ask me for online,” she noted.
Although its long-term goal is form your own band and give live concerts, in parallel he is writing his own songs and recording. “I put all the chips into my career so that it works and they know me better,” Dina emphasized, highlighting that she already has almost 120 thousand followers between Instagram and Tik Tok.
Motivated by the great present she is experiencing, last month the young woman went to try her luck on the program “welcome to win”, hosted by Laurita Fernández on Channel 9. He participated in the singers’ duel but lost in the grand final. However, she is aware that she has already won by leaving her comfort zone and encouraging herself that many already recognize her because of her voice.
