Priscila Espinoza, Peruvian actress with participation in several national productions, has taken a surprising turn in her career with her role in the popular series ‘Pituca Sin Lucas’. In interview with Infobae Peru, The young woman shared how exciting it has been to play María Grazia, a character far from those she was used to.
When asked how he would describe his true personality Off-camera, the performer was clear in marking distance with her work in the series.
“I consider myself a person who is empathetic with my surroundings. María Grazia right now has very clear ideals, and in order to reach that goal she hurts the people around her, but she is not aware of the consequences that her actions can bring,” she explained.
She further added that unlike fiction, she is not as impulsive and acquired a more realistic view of life with the passage of time.
With enthusiasm, Priscila Espinoza described the challenge of embodying a character so different from his own personality.
“It is a challenge, like all the characters that we actors have to face. But, María Gracia, for me, it is a gift. I was looking to get out of that ‘charm’ that she put on me a little bit, from the good girl, to the sweet one and the one who does everything well. “I wanted a character that generates controversy, that is a little hated and loved,” she explained.
It is not the first time that the artist faces complex characterizations. The 30-year-old recalled her participation in ‘The last bastion’ as one of the most challenging projects of his career.
“So far, I think ‘The Last Bastion’ has been the most challenging project because it led a lot to the construction of the character, not only as Rosa María, but also understanding the story. I had to grab many history books to understand what context the Robles family was in 200 years ago. The way they spoke was quite challenging,” Espinoza said.
The actress also addressed how she handles the romantic scenes with Jano Baca in the series and the ‘shipeos’ of fans regarding their romantic relationship. Priscila assures that her partner, who is a model, perfectly understands her profession and supports her at all times.
“He also has to do photo shoots with models, sometimes they make videos in couple situations. So, he knows that everything is super professional, there is also a lot of trust in the relationship and apart from that I think that he couldn’t be with a boy who doesn’t understand and accept my profession. If you are an actor, you are going to have to play romantic scenes and everything has to be done with professionalism,” explained the interpreter.
Priscila Espinoza highlights that his performance in ‘Pituca Without Lucas’ It does not normalize infidelity, but exposes it. “The soap opera shows human beings with virtues and defects and those who are most affected by the defects are people who either want to fix the problem or are part of the problem. I like that about María Gracia, that she is not a bad person, she is a person who makes a lot of mistakes because, in life itself, there are human beings who make her mess.”
The actress believes that these elements make the audience hooked on the story, since perfect characters would lack narrative appeal. “What if all the characters were beautiful, they wouldn’t see it,” she highlighted.
The actress also commented on her perception of content on social networks. “I am not a devotee of social networks, I try not to watch the videos because I feel like it’s for the fans. I am more inspired by what I do in the series. I think that if I start to get carried away by what I read in the comments, or in the videos, as I continue recording the novel, I will, perhaps, transform my character,” concluded Espinoza.
