Governor Carlos Manuel Merino Campos this Monday led the delivery of the State Sports Awards and Tabasco Sports Merit 2023.
During his speech, after holding a guard of honor and laying flowers within the framework of the 113th anniversary of the beginning of the Mexican Revolution, the state president highlighted that sport is the best school of values that forms citizens committed to their environment, as it projects culture and identity to the world through its athletes.
For this reason, he congratulated and recognized the winners of this edition and highlighted that sport in Tabasco has a new face, since the State is increasingly competitive.
“I congratulate and recognize the winners of the State Sports Award and the to the Tabasco Sports Merit 2023, who have stood out for their career; performance, dedication and passion for sport, “you are an example for the people of Tabasco”, and motivate us to continue practicing and supporting sport as we have been doing to this day.
“It is a way of life and a tool for transformation and social reconciliation, which is why this year has been recognized as 2023 the year of Sports in Tabasco,” he stated.
He highlighted that this year, prior to hosting the CONADE 2023 National Games, his administration made an investment of more than 100 million pesos to improve and maintain the state’s sports infrastructure.
“We set out to recover spaces that were abandoned or were used as a refuge from leisure and crime (…) which allowed us to host the CONADE 2023 National Games, where we made a historic investment that exceeds 100 million pesos, improving and maintaining the State’s sports infrastructure.
“Today we have an athletics track with international certification that will allow hundreds of athletes to be more competitive, this is how we put an end to any perverse story or story of excessive ambition where indolence is capable of divulging in order to win through lies. that with work and mobility they could not do when they served the people of Tabasco,” he said.
For her part, the director of Injudet, Jessyca Mayo Aparicio, pointed out that the government of Tabasco recognizes the efforts of the winners in the different categories, as well as the rest of the entity’s athletes who strive to be better.
“Receiving this award means an honor, this is an honor for every athlete, because their career is recognized for leaving the name of Tabasco high. For me, it is a source of great pride, because 2023 is the year of Tabasco sports; I had to be very close in most of the competitions, witness their commendable effort and discipline and that will continue to be the case, because I believe that sport in our State will flourish with the effort and will of everyone, from any trench,” he said.
Meanwhile, Carlos Iñiguez Rosique, Secretary of Administration, during his participation as a speaker at the event, spoke of overcoming the divisions of the past and working together towards a future that continues to build the main axes of the current Fourth Transformation.
“By working together, using our unwavering creativity and recovering the values that identify us, we can achieve a Tabasco that is peaceful, safe and in constant progress,” he asserted, ensuring that “the doomsayers of disaster will never be able to erode the example of unity that we Tabasco residents will set.” , because there is in all of us the conviction to work for the most just causes, building the best of futures.”

The winners
The award to the Tabasco Sports Merit 2023in the best athlete category, went to José Antonio Muñoz Hernández, in the weightlifting discipline.
The award for best individual sports team was received by athletes Maximiliano Omar Ortega, Yahir Arias Rodríguez and Rodrigo Quiroz Ramírez in the fencing discipline.
The beach volleyball athletes Luis Ángel Pérez Castellano and Luis Gabriel López de la Cruz received the award for the best team sports team, as well as the 2023 State Sports Award award in the category of Promotion, Protection and Promotion to the Practice of Sports, which went to Carlos Alberto González Bocardo.
In the coach category, Jonathan Misael Alvarado Sánchez received from the weightlifting discipline; in the adapted athlete category, the shot put parathlete Salvador López González; and in the athlete category the young Ivanna Amairany Hernández Morales, from the Associated Fights discipline.
