Lina Maritza Pantoja achieved the first gold medal in women’s athletics for Nariño.
Nariño continues to have great satisfaction and reasons for pride regarding the recognition of athletes in national and international competitions; so it is Lina Maritza Pantoja winner of the Gold medal at the XXII National Games 2023.
“Firstly, grateful to God,” she said at the end of the competition.
She is a native of the municipality from Tuquerres, Nariño.
Lina won the first athletics gold medal for the department of Nariño in the National Games, running 10,000 meters on the Armenia Quindio track.
The athlete, a member of the Trotahacheros club, stated that discipline is key to being able to compete and obtain good results. She trained for four years without rest to win the gold medal.

In an interview in Fiebre de Fútbol, he reported that the competition started at a pace of 1.24. Being clear about the strategy that he defined with his coach to be within the first five.
She commented that with 3 and a half laps remaining, with approximately a kilometer and a half left, motivated by her coaches, she gained momentum to continue and win at minute 36 and 31 seconds.
“Until I crossed the finish line I didn’t feel like a winner,” She says that during the course she felt that at any moment she could be passed by other competitors and that she felt the pressure at every moment “I felt like they were stepping on my heels,” she said.
He dedicates his medal to God and the Virgin of Las Nieves; to his parents, brothers, husband and coaches Jairo Surata.

Nariño has won 21 medals in the National Games of the Coffee Region, among them: one gold, five plant and 15 bronze.
