Karina puts her party to play hard in Entre Ríos – Political Page

Karina Milei, boss in the national government and in the party organization that supports it, will be in Paraná on Saturday with Martín Menem, president of the Chamber of Deputies.

The leader will formally launch her party in Entre Ríos. La Libertad Avanza today has provisional status and hopes that Justice will review the slightly more than 6,000 affiliations presented with a view to the definitive institutionalization of Milei’s party in the province.

The far-right government has favored the path of its own legal tool, thus discarding the very wide variety of strategies that were tested throughout the country between 2021 and 2023. They were courses based on party seals that made it possible to put the violet ballot in the dark rooms of the 23 Argentine provinces.

Milei a la entrerriana

In 2021 and 2023, in En Entre Ríos, different “brands” came to the stove, in many cases with pending procedures in the Electoral Justice, provisional legal status, old seals brought to light again. The Fe Party, the Democratic Party, the Ser Party, the Sol Party (in 2021), and the Popular Conservative Party.

When the time of the election came, the only label in a position to give Milei a legal umbrella was the Popular Conservative Party (PCP). Thus, he went to the elections with the ballot that obtained 18.8% of the votes and won five seats in the Chamber of Deputies of the province and one deputy in the National Congress. It was a high percentage although LLA did not plant a flag in any department.

When the time for the ballot arrived, the confluence of stamps was already discarded. The five elected deputies, before taking office, immersed themselves in the diaspora. Lily Salinas, owner of the party label, announced a monoblock as soon as she was sworn in; Carlos Damasco and Julia Calleros did the same with the Fe party bench; and Roque Fleitas, who chairs the Promoting Board, and Débora Todoni, kept the brand of La Libertad Avanza as a libertarian expression in the Entre Ríos Legislature.

By the time of the runoff, without his own party, Milei painted the entire province purple and won 61.4% of the votes. The myth of the blank vote was reduced to 1% of the electorate.

That was the map for an expression without a party. Only now is it at the gates of the official status and, in some way, the official launch will be this Saturday with the presence of Karina, accompanied by Menem. “The boss” makes his party in Entre Ríos play hard from now on, an expression that burst forth suddenly and as the protagonist.

Speculations, calculations, alchemies are already the order of the day. Looking ahead to the upcoming electoral scenarios, the factor that will determine the game will be whether it is possible for Together for Entre Ríos and for La Libertad Avanza to continue on separate paths to retain the national and provincial governments. Or if, on the other hand, they will have to look for an alliance in Entre Ríos to confront Peronism that, until just a year ago, was host in the Government House and with 20 years of uninterrupted residence.

“Karina’s presence means a lot to us,” said Andrés Laumann, representative of the party’s political table in Entre Ríos. “It is the closure of something that was very sought after, very worked on. It is having achieved unity, having convinced the militant that he had to build his party. We leave behind the disintegration, the presence of leaders looking at their navels. We moved to a representation scheme in the 17 departments, with those who were strengthened candidates, with an infrastructure in place around institutional positions,” highlighted the Paraná representative.

“We also have a cultural battle underway in Entre Ríos, a clearly Peronist province. It is a cultural battle that has taken place in the street, gathering 40 affiliations per day. No other party achieves that. People stop and join,” Laumann noted. “People want there to be governance for Milei. He knows that politics is looking at the elections 365 days a year, but people want management, they want work to be done to provide solutions,” he emphasized.

The former candidate for mayor made it known that the presence of the national leaders will consist of a press conference and an event with particular characteristics. It will be exclusively with militancy, with the format of a talk, a round trip with local leaders. It will be a meeting of an hour and a half, after which the leaders will travel to a meeting with similar characteristics in Santa Fe.

La Libertad Avanza, in Entre Ríos, will have to wait a few more days for Justice to rule on the affiliations presented and grant definitive status. There are around 6,200 affiliations gathered, basically, in Paraná, Gualeguaychú and Colón. There are also affiliates of Concordia, Concepción del Uruguay and more recently with a development in Victoria and Gualeguay.
