It is worth mentioning that this Jalisco region that groups eight municipalities is, like most of the Jalisco entity, under the territorial control of the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel, with the exception of the municipality of Teocaltiche, a border gate with Zacatecas, which is in the power of the Sinaloa cartel.
Recently, state authorities dismantled clandestine monitoring centers installed by organized crime in that district, found a homemade explosives factory and seized drones that were used to launch bombs. The commissioner of Teocaltiche, Luis Humberto Beltrán, abandoned his position and is untraceable.
