From the CJNG attack that left 3 soldiers dead in Teocaltiche

Sources from the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) stated that the attack suffered by elements of the Mexican Army in the municipality of Teocaltiche, resulting in three dead soldiers, on the morning of Sunday, November 20, was carried out by the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel ( CJNG).

However, so far the whereabouts of the murderers who have their refuge in the municipalities of the Altos Norte region of Jalisco and the state of Zacatecas have not been located.

The death of the soldiers occurred suddenly when they were patrolling on the Jalostotitlán-Teocaltiche highway, in Jalisco, at the intersection that leads to Nochistlán, Zacatecas.

It was 8:45 a.m. when state and federal authorities learned of the armed attack against the military unit by heavily armed individuals aboard vehicles with artisanal armor, known as “monsters.”

The barrage of bullets was brutal on the militia elements who did not have time to react. The fateful result: three dead soldiers and another five injured, who were taken to hospitals in the region.

Immediately there were at least two road blockades with vehicles blocking the way to delay the support of police forces and the Armed Forces to the site of the ambush.

At kilometer 30 of the Jalostotitlán-Teocaltiche highway, criminals abandoned a Ram truck, which was on fire and blocking the road. The other blockade occurred at kilometer 55 of the highway exit from Teocaltiche to San Juan de los Lagos, where a Kenworth torton truck loaded with bananas crossed the traffic lanes.

When the various authorities arrived at the scene, they could only help the wounded soldiers, but the other three had already died. Agents from the State Police, the National Guard and soldiers from the 9th arrived there. Infantry Battalion. Helicopters were also used, but the hitmen were no longer located.

This attack occurs after on Thursday, November 16, 2023, National Guard agents were attacked in the municipality of Ocotlán, in the Ciénega Region, leaving a member of the National Guard seriously injured and a hitman dead.

This Monday the 20th, after leading the Military Civic Parade for the 113th Anniversary of the Beginning of the Mexican Revolution, the Governor of Jalisco, Enrique Alfaro Ramírez, did not rule out that these events are a reaction to the operation undertaken by the Secretary of National Defense ( Sedena) to arrest the regional leader of the CJNG, Heraclio Guerrero Martínez, El Lako.

The president justified that the strategy to combat organized crime is working “from what we understand has had these reactions, but we agreed with the Armed Forces that they will be the ones providing information on operations that are coordinated by the Army.”

“We are going to continue doing our work and facing – even acts – like those we saw this weekend, commented Alfaro Ramírez, who added that his government is in permanent communication with the federal authorities and reiterated that inter-institutional operations will continue in the Altos region. North.

It is worth mentioning that this Jalisco region that groups eight municipalities is, like most of the Jalisco entity, under the territorial control of the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel, with the exception of the municipality of Teocaltiche, a border gate with Zacatecas, which is in the power of the Sinaloa cartel.

Recently, state authorities dismantled clandestine monitoring centers installed by organized crime in that district, found a homemade explosives factory and seized drones that were used to launch bombs. The commissioner of Teocaltiche, Luis Humberto Beltrán, abandoned his position and is untraceable.
