It was carried out within the framework of a coordination between the Ministries of and Education in order to open a space for dialogue, training and debate on this topic.

Regarding this, the attorney Adriana Gerezhead of the Early Care service at the Hospital de Niño Jesús, said that it is an agreement between the ministries of health and education. “We work with children from 0 to 3 years old with developmental problems or risk of suffering from it, that is why we did training in early care at the hospital where all the early care teams in the province were present, such as the Hospital del Este, Avellaneda, Tafí del Valle hospital, among others.”

Likewise, the professional highlighted that the training was dictated by the graduate Anabel Muiñabelonging to the FEPI Foundation of Buenos Aires.

“Early attention basically has to do with addressing the developmental problems that may occur in the child and within that are problems that can be neurological, sensory such as blindness, deafness or behavioral where the diagnosis of autism is found” , he highlighted.

This service has a technical teaching team, which means that in addition to techniques there are teachers who are the therapists who do the pedagogical part. The team’s function is to prepare the child for entering school.

“There are cases of children who from the moment they are born, we know that they will need support, when they suffer from blindness, hydrocephalus or any type of problems that involve a level of health. On the occasion we had a day where we worked on theoretical concepts and the review of clinical approach cases that help us continue working with these problems, see our progress and compare them with what is being done in Buenos Aires,” he added.

For her part, the graduate in psychopedagogy and specialist in early stimulation Anabel Muiñabelonging to FEPI, Center «Dra. Lydia Coriat” from Buenos Aires, explained: “I was summoned by the Ministry of Education and particularly by the Directorate of Special Education for a conference and what was proposed was an articulation with the Health area, to carry out training for the centers of early stimulation of hospitals.”

Regarding the work carried out by the province on early stimulation, the professional said that a very good job is being done and spoke about the importance of being able to open this type of meetings to stop and think and reflect in relation to young children, babies and parents when any developmental problems arise.

Following this line, the specialist emphasized that two issues must be addressed, those related to diagnosis in early childhood and the possibility of locating issues that are not conclusive or closed, but have to do with futures and processes that do not challenge to the child who is being formed.
