The General Maritime Directorate andThis Monday he delivered a positive balance in Santa Marta during the Easter season, after reporting zero accidents and only eight vessels fined for failure to comply with safety regulations during navigation.

In the maritime safety and maritime protection devices that were carried out in coordination with the Coast Guard Corps of the Colombian Navy, in the authorized docks and the different beaches of the city, 2,988 boat departures were reported.

In total, more than 42,000 passengers were transported from the authorized docks to the PInca Inca beaches, Playa Blanca, Taganga, Bahía Concha, Chengue, Tayrona National Natural Park, among other tourist destinations in the department.

The balance includes the verifications and monitoring carried out from the ARC ship “Isla del Morro” and the maritime traffic control tower, to prevent any emergency that would put human life at risk this season.

The Captain of the Port of Santa Marta, Captain of the Frigate, César Humberto Grisalesthe balance is positive and was achieved by the articulated work that we carried out with the authorities of the District of Santa Marta and the tourism unions.

“The sea conditions were also favorable, which facilitated operations and sporting activities without incident,” he added.
