The call for applications for this Diploma taught by the Institute of Religious Sciences and Philosophy of the Universidad Católica del Norte is open until May 10, 2024.

This Diploma is aimed at teachers and professionals in the area of ​​social sciences, who are interested in understanding and scientifically addressing religious phenomena in an increasingly globalized and diverse world.

According to Boris Briones Soto, Coordinator of the Diploma, this training program gains value today because “religion plays a central role in the lives of millions of people, and its influence extends to various social, political, cultural and economical. Therefore, it is essential that professionals in the social sciences and related areas have the necessary tools to analyze and understand these phenomena in all their complexity.”

Furthermore, this is a program that adjusts to the lines of development and research of the academic unit, which seeks to understand Christianity and the religious experience in an increasingly secular, multicultural and multi-religious society, which demands multidisciplinary reflection.

Within the study plan, topics such as: Religions in history, Religion, Politics and Latin America and Religion in the Contemporary World. Graduates will be able to contribute to the study of religious phenomena, promoting interdisciplinary and interreligious dialogue.

The Diploma begins its classes in the month of May and considers a total of 216 hours. Its modality is online with classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. For more information visit the page https://postgrado.ucn.cl/ or write to the email [email protected].

Among the admission requirements is having a professional degree, a bachelor’s degree, or a certificate of graduation from a university degree in the area of ​​Social Sciences, Humanities, or a related degree. Exceptionally, the program management may admit professionals from other disciplines or university students through a prior interview.
