The figures of sexual abuse in Antioquia are alarming, as revealed in a session of the Antioquia Assembly. In 2023, 5,433 cases of child sexual abuse were reported, which represents 452 cases per month.

According to the report, 85% of the victims are women and 15% are men. In the Aburrá Valley there are 3,124 cases, 83% correspond to women and the majority are concentrated in the urban area. The other two subregions where the most cases are registered are Oriente and Urabá.

Another of the relevant data revealed during the presentation of the report, in which the Secretariat of Social Inclusion and Family, the Secretariat of Education, the Secretariat of Tourism and the Management of Childhood and Adolescence were present, is that Sunday is the day with the most cases.
