Two men that had been reviewed in the poster of the most wanted for violence against women in Antioquia they were in the hands of the authorities during the last hours.

The news was issued by the governor of Antioquia, Andrés Julián Rendón, who specified that these are the suspects Edison Diego Taborda Sánchez and John Alexis Correa Rúa.

In the case of Correa Rúa, 28 years old and who in said poster is described as allegedly responsible for the crime of aggravated violent carnal accessthe sectional leader stated that he voluntarily surrendered at the Police station in the municipality of Remedios, where he is from.

On the other hand, in the case of Taborda Sánchez, 40 years old and identified as the alleged perpetrator of the crime of violent sexual actRendón added that he was captured in a operation carried out in the neighboring department of Córdoba, in the vicinity of the Los Córdobas municipality.

Both arrests occur just two days after the Government of Antioquia presented that most wanted poster in the municipality of El Retiro, in a strategy that aims to fight against impunity against those responsible for violence and other crimes against women.

In total they are 18 men those that were reviewed in this poster, for which rewards of up to $50 million for information leading to his capture.

“We hope that with this most wanted poster we very quickly we can have information from the communityso that the authorities complete the process of prosecuting and capturing these aggressors,” Governor Rendón said last Thursday.

It is worth remembering that according to figures from the Observatory of Women and Gender Affairs of the Women’s Secretariat of Antioquia, since January of this year there have been at least 28 murders that could be classified as femicides.
