There is anguish in the Coffee Region due to the disappearance of the priest Darío Valencia Uribe, parish priest of the María Auxiliadora Church of Pereira. A private vehicle and a blood stain are the key elements in the Prosecutor’s Office investigation.
The religious man was last seen on April 25 in the temple he presided over and assured that he was going to meet with a person who was supposedly going to buy him a truck. Since then, his whereabouts have been unknown.
The alarms went off because his phone was turned off early in the day, he did not attend a lunch he had scheduled with another priest and he was absent from a Eucharist that was scheduled for 3:00 in the afternoon of the same day.
“We are alarmed, very sad. There is still no certainty about what has happened to the father, to his life and to his health. We are hoping that everything comes to a happy conclusion and that the father is alive,” said the leader.
WEEK learned that the car in which Valencia Uribe was traveling, the same one he was selling, was found in a parking lot in the municipality of Viterbo, Caldas, located a few kilometers from the capital of Risaralda.
Investigators from the Prosecutor’s Office found blood stains in the car, whose origin has not been established and they are awaiting the result of a forensic examination that will clarify whether it is from a person or an animal.

The Secretary of the Government of Pereira, Jorge Mario Trejos, commented that the priest has not been able to be located four days after the disappearance, but that the uniformed officers and detectives are attentive to any indication that leads them to his whereabouts.
