Some Chubut residents will be able to enjoy a two-day break this week.
The reason? Tuesday, April 30, will be a provincial holiday, and the next day, the International Workers Day, a significant date that recognizes the work of all workers and is part of the official holiday calendar.
These days will provide Chubut residents who work in the Public administration the possibility of enjoying two days of rest in the middle of the week, while the rest of the workers will have their rest on Wednesday.
The provincial holiday of April 30 remembers the Valley Plebiscitewhich took place on October 16, 1902, in dispute over the sovereignty of the territory between Argentina and Chile.

The residents of the Valley, also known as Valle Hermoso, decided on that date to belong to Argentina.. Since 2002, this date was declared a non-working day in the province of Chubut, establishing a mandatory rest for the Provincial Public Administration and related activities.
