A fire unleashed on a section of the National Highway in the province of Villa Clara this Saturday damaged part of the water line from Palmarito and due to this, the supply of liquid in the area was interrupted.

According to the information published this Sunday by the communicator Henry Omar Pérez, the incident occurred in the section that goes from Palmarito to the Highway tank on Saturday afternoon, “it was caused by a citizen” and it is not ruled out that it was intentional.

The details of the incident were provided to Pérez by the People’s Power delegate of the area, who explained that, as a result of the incident, “a part of the tube that carries the water was damaged and the liquid is currently being poured, so it is “He stopped the water service so he could repair it.”

“The necessary measures are being taken to replace the affected section,” said the communicator.

In the preliminary version of the incident, Pérez had reported that the fire was caused by “a citizen who was traveling in a green motorbike,” but he later deleted that information, although in the comments he said that “everything seems to indicate” that the origin of the fire was an intentional act.

In a second post, he pointed out that this Sunday “the water supply to Palmarito continues to be paralyzed, water has not entered the Highway Tank for two hours.”

Subsequently, he specified that “urgent actions are being taken to solve (the) damage caused” by the fire, which “partially damaged a section of the conductor” and published photos of the affected site.

He added that officials from the Aqueduct Directorate and the Villa Clara Delegation of Hydraulic Resources were at the scene.

In the comments, Pérez said he assumed that an investigation had been initiated into the person responsible for the incident. “There are a lot of resources and in addition to that, a lot of impact on the population,” he said.

One day before this incident, a fire in the town of La Ceniza, in Villa Clara, which affected the line that supplies electricity to four towns in the areaas reported by the provincial Electric Company.
