A good report on sales of agricultural products and basic family food basket was delivered by the Santa Marta Chamber of Commerce for Magdalena, an entity that held the 23rd edition of the ‘Magdalena: Land of Farmers’ Fair in the town of Gaira.

In that order of ideas, during the activity carried out on Saturday there was a total of 12 million 427 thousand 600 pesos in sales, thus reaffirming the positive impact on the agriculture of the department with a satisfactory balance.

8 associations participated in the fair: Asomcor, Asocher, Asoagrobril, Asgesyc de la Vipis, Asopihorsit, Fundapad, as well as producers from the rural area of ​​Santa Marta such as Bonda, more specifically from the Tierra Linda village and 4 invited ventures that are part of the Ruta C platform, Núcleos Program (handmade accessories and pastries).

The ‘Magdalena: Land of Farmers’ fair, which arises from the alliance between the Chamber of Commerce of Santa Marta for Magdalena and the University of Magdalena, with the support of the Mayor’s Office of Santa Marta, reaffirms its positive impact on agriculture since during During Saturday’s activity, nearly 3,460 kilos of food products were sold.

Andrés Vives Calle, director of Competitiveness and Economic Development of the Santa Marta Chamber of Commerce, confirmed that agricultural producers from different municipalities of Magdalena such as Sitio Nuevo, Palermo, Ariguaní, Zona Bananera and Santa Marta came to the main park of Gaira, who They offered attendees the best of their harvests at competitive prices.

“The fair had an estimated attendance of approximately 1,000 people, among whom there were more than 150 children who enjoyed all the recreational activities carried out within the framework of the celebration of Children’s Day, all thanks to an alliance with the Gairaca Cultural Foundation (Fucuga)”, he pointed out.

With ‘Magdalena Tierra de Agricultores’ we seek to increase the availability of fruit and vegetable products in order to improve and increase the quality, safety and high nutritional value of food in the department of Magdalena.
