The SDL could lose the category this next day, the UDL will compete in the promotion phase to 1st RFEF as third place, Náxara has been a 3rd RFEF team for a couple of days and only Calahorra maintains certain unknowns about its participation in the next Copa del Rey whose advantage was lost this weekend and no longer depends on itself facing the last day… I wouldn’t say that this has been, in general, a good season for our team or even for the UDL of which Direct promotion or, failing that, a second position was initially expected. That does not mean that promotion remains a feasible goal to achieve and, given what we have seen, the only joy of the season.
In the women’s category, the season ended in 1st RFEF with the permanence of Dux Logroño in the category and the farewell of its captain, Olga García… and in 2nd, Pradejón, which no longer plays at all, managed to beat the leader 3-0, Real Madrid B.
Other things that the weekend has left us:
Ciudad de Logroño beats Anaitasuna and places third in the Asobal classification taking advantage of Granollers’ defeat in Valladolid. For its part, Sporting La Rioja will play on the last day for direct promotion to the Iberdrola League in what would be the return to the top category of national women’s handball a season later.
In basketball, a dark day: Clavijo, which had already lost its category, also loses its status as a Leb Oro team in Melilla with a bad image against a direct rival like Melilla. Unibasket has not achieved promotion to the Challenge League in the phase it played in Utebo, nor was it even able to reach the semifinals; while Logrobasket will not compete in the promotion phase to Leb Plata either, having fallen in the pre-phase after losing in Salamanca against Baloncesto Tormes.
And in ball, Darío’s defeat against Laso in the Manomanista quarter-final group of 1st which means that our two representatives will play for the pass to the semi-finals on the 3rd and last day and both with the need to win to do so : this Saturday at the Labrit, Zabala against Artola, and on Sunday the 12th at the Astelena, Darío against Altuna.
