The Guarantee Court of Valparaíso left subject to the precautionary measure of total house arrest for a 28-year-old man accused of sexually exploiting for commercial purposes residents of homes of the National Service for Specialized Protection of Children and Adolescents (“Better Childhood”) located in the coastal city.

The subject was arrested by the Investigative Police (PDI) within the framework of the so-called “Operation Falcon III”which carried out the Sexual Crimes Investigative Brigade (Brisex); procedure that, in addition, seized audiovisual material of child exploitation that was analyzed by the Cybercrime Investigative Brigade.

“In relation to modus operandithis guy contacted girls and adolescents between 14 and 17 years of age through social networks around the residences of the Better Childhood Service in the city of Valparaíso“said the subprefect Ingrid Ortiz, head of the Brisex Valparaíso.

“Taking advantage of the psychosocial vulnerability (of the victims), he exchanged images and videos of sexual connotation in exchange for money.”for later “concrete sexual encounters”he added.

The individual was formalized for the crimes of commercial sexual exploitation of children and adolescents; promotion and facilitation of sexual exploitation; malicious storage of child pornographic material and production of child pornographic material.

The court set the investigation period at 120 days.

COMPLAINTS IN VILLA ALEMANA

Similar events have been reported in Better Childhood residences in Villa Alemana. About, Francisco Olivares, regional director of the service, stated that “The work to combat and prevent sexual exploitation in Valparaíso is a priority.”

“We are very satisfied, since in our region we have filed numerous complaints and we have strengthened our work together with other institutions, such as the police and the Prosecutor’s Office.
