Felipe Pettinato was convicted of abusing a teenager

Felipe Pettinato was convicted this Monday for the crime of simple sexual abuse committed against a young woman who was 15 years old at the time of the events, in March 2018, and who was part of the environment of his ex-partner and mother of his daughter. The sentence handed down by Court No. 1 of San Isidro was 9 months of suspended prison, with a series of restrictive measures such as undergoing treatment.

The complainant recounted at the hearing on April 23 what the abuse she suffered was like. She added that Felipe Pettinato, at that time, was undergoing treatment for his drug addiction and stayed in the family home because he did not have an address to live.

In turn, the victim’s relatives also provided their testimonies. While the psychological expert presented a report accessed by Infobae in which she assured that the young woman “expresses her difficulties in revealing what happened based on the affections that were aroused around the accused.”

Furthermore, it was highlighted that in the complainant’s story “there is no evidence of fantasy invasion or memory alterations.” “Likewise, she states that on this occasion her mother was able to listen to her and accompany her in the complaint process,” the report emphasized.

An essential story in the case was also added to the case: that of Melchor Rodrigo, Pettinato’s personal neurologist, who died in a confusing fire that occurred in Felipe’s apartment, for which the actor is accused. There, “it is clear that the accused was in full use of his mental faculties at the time of the abuse,” argued one of the participants in the judicial process.

Likewise, the report corresponding to Vicente López’s gender violence office would be “forceful.”

On behalf of the accused, Felipe Pettinato appeared at the single hearing on Tuesday, April 23 in Court No. 1 of San Isidro without testifying or saying the last words. The defendant’s defense offered his sister Tamara as a witness.

Now, the actor hopes that this Monday the verdict will be known in the trial for simple sexual abuse.

According to the case, Felipe Pettinato attacked the then 15-year-old teenager in an apartment in the Olivos area on March 8, 2018, at dawn. That was where he approached her by surprise while she was on the couch in the living room of her house. There, he touched her tail and vagina over her clothes.

The incident was reported in September 2019. The victim reported that Felipe Pettinato had lived in his house between March 1 and 9, 2018. The girl’s family had contained him, they had given him shelter, since he was undergoing treatment to face an alleged drug addiction.

The case was investigated by prosecutor Lida Osores Soler, in charge of Vicente López’s Gender Violence Functional Instruction Unit.

The accusation with which Pettinato Jr. came to trial this Monday was simple sexual abuse, a crime that provides a maximum penalty of four years in prison.
