In the middle of a calm and folkloric atmosphere, with flags and trovas, organizations and political movements gathered this Wednesday in the May 1 marchwhich commemorates Labor Day.

In Medellin, The demonstration began around 9 in the morning in the Milagrosa park and will enter the center of Medellínwhere you will then arrive at Berrío Park.

Germán Marín, of the Unitary Central of Workers of Colombia (CUT)He noted that around 10,000 people are expected to attend.

“We are supporting the social reforms carried out by the National Government, but May 1 belongs to the workers. We have union autonomy, and we commemorate May 1st in the streets. That at this juncture the participation of the government is presented is good, but it is clear that we have specific instructions”, he expressed.

This year, The day will be marked by the presence of President Gustavo Petro, who will join the labor centers and unions in the defense of workers’ labor rights.
