GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) – The 5A boys’ tennis state finals have been postponed after an Upstate team was disqualified, according to the South Carolina High School League (SCHSL).

JL Mann High School boys’ tennis lineup was reviewed after being questioned by Dorman High School, according to a release from the SCHSL.

SCHSL said they determined JL Mann was not in compliance with rules about the establishment of an initial ladder, the order of play for each player in the match. Specific details about the violation were not released in SCHSL’s statement on Wednesday.

JL Mann is planning to appeal the league’s decision at a special-called meeting of the SCHSL executive committee on Friday at 1 pm

The 5A state semifinal match between TL Hanna and JL Mann that was set to be played on Wednesday has been postponed as well. The lower state match between Wando and Carolina Forest will continue as planned, according to SCHSL.

FOX Carolina reached out to both JL Mann and Dorman for further information. Both declined to comment.
