Over the weekend, the bishop emeritus of Chilpancingo Chilapa, Guerrero, was deprived of his freedom. Salvador Rangel Mendozawho was located on Monday in a hospital in Cuernavaca, Morelos.
In this regard, the spokesperson for the Archdiocese of San Luis Potosí pointed out that what the bishop emeritus experienced “is a situation from which we all suffer… It is about all types of citizens who unfortunately are at the expense of this situation of kidnapping, of floor collection”.
He added that this is part of the “terrible violence” that the country is experiencing, which generates uncertainty among the population as they are at the risk of being a victim of different types of crimes such as the one the clergyman suffered this time.
He highlighted that in addition, the situation of violence that exists in Mexico also means that those people who raise their voices to denounce what is happening are at risk, as has happened with seeking mothers who have been attacked or even killed for going in search of their children.
He pointed out that the same thing happens with other people “who are promoting the freedom in all aspects, it is what is experienced in Mexico”.
In that sense, Cruz Perales called to “pray for this peace that we all desire, the impulse that moves all of us to fight for peace, which is what we desire and what we want for our Mexico.”
