The Mayor of Río Grande expressed his rejection of the attacks on the Tierra del Fuego Industrial Complex incorporated into the fiscal package of the Bases in Deputies Law project.

M

artín Perez warned about the serious consequences of continuing to attack the Fuegian Industrial Pole. “These are measures that seek to depopulate Tierra del Fuego, destroy an entire community with direct consequences on the geopolitical and strategic interests of the country,” he claimed.

The Mayor rejected the sudden incorporation of article 111 of chapter 8 of the fiscal package that directly threatens the Fuegian industry and its workers. Perez regretted the lack of knowledge about Tierra del Fuego on the part of some political actors, which according to him are based on “rumors, journalistic speculation, conspiracy theories and extreme economic ideologies.”

Given this scenario, Perez described these actions as “irresponsible” and highlighted the importance of defending the community and the province as a whole.

The Mayor stressed the need to maintain seriousness and responsibility in the political debate, especially when it comes to decisions that so profoundly affect the lives of the people of Fuegian and the strategic development of the country.

Martín Perez reaffirmed his commitment to the defense of the Industrial Pole of Tierra del Fuego and assured that he will continue working to protect the interests of the community and the local economic future.
