The minister in charge of Foreign Affairs of Colombia, Luis Gilberto Murilloassured this Tuesday that the Government is preparing to regularize more than 600,000 migrants, most of them Venezuelans.

“We still have 600,000 migrants, the vast majority Venezuelans, who require regularization in the country, who intend to stay in the country”, expressed the chancellor in a statement to journalists in Quibdó, capital of the jungle department of Chocó (border with Panama). Murillo assured that they are preparing a regulation so that about 350,000 of these people can be “legally reunited” with their families.

“In addition, 250,000 more will receive a special work permit, a work visa that allows them to be regularized in Colombia, integrate into Colombian society and have a route that allows them to participate with dignity, as it should be, in this society”
, added the minister. This in a context in which Colombia has regularized more than 2.3 million Venezuelans who “They are making their lives” in the country, according to Murillo.
