The video went viral on social networks in which a woman allegedly mistreated Kiara, a pitbull dog on the balcony of an apartment in Jamundí.

However, the case took an unexpected turn: on May 1 it was learned that the dog was returned to the alleged abuser, which generated outrage and rejection with the authorities, considering that Kiara would be in danger.

From the departmental government there was rejection of the “decision of the Police inspection in charge of investigating the alleged mistreatment.”

“In the Valley we have zero tolerance for animal abuse! We strongly reject the decision to inspect Jamundí Police to order Kiara’s return to the place where she was a victim of abuse. We oppose this decision and we will continue, as we have done until now, fighting so that Kiara and her puppies have a protective home,” published Lizeth Parra, deputy technical director of management support at the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development of the Valley.

“We ask the Government, the Mayor’s Office and the Inspection that is handling Kiara’s legal process to report why the dog was returned to her alleged abuser, taking into account that while carrying out the process they must safeguard the life of Kiara and her puppies. What happened to the puppies And why were they delivered in those health conditions? We are waiting for the statement,” said Patricia Dosman, director of Radio Conexión Animal.
